MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – A man posing as an asset of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and two other individuals were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mapalacsiao in Tarlac City on Thursday.
In a statement, the PDEA – Central Luzon identified the impostor as Joel Basilio, 49, a resident of San Miguel, Tarlac.
The two companions of Basilio were identified as May Quintana, 35, and Jennifer Concepcion.
“Basilio would introduce himself as a PDEA asset and would ask for money and drugs from other drug pushers in the area,” the PDEA Central Luzon said.
Seized from the suspects were four heat-sealed transparent sachets containing 15 grams of shabu (crystal meth) with an estimated street value of P102,000, assorted drug-using paraphernalia, and a .38 caliber revolver.
Marked peso bills were also recovered from the suspects.
PDEA – Central Luzon said the suspects will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
