MANILA, Philippines — A total of 2,321 new infections of COVID-19 were registered by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, with active infections at 24,067.
This puts the country’s total caseload at 3,891,418 nationwide, with 3,805,340 recoveries and 62,011 deaths, based on the DOH COVID-19 Tracker on its website.
These new cases are also slightly lower than the daily average of 2,449 infections recorded from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4.
Of all the regions, Metro Manila recorded the highest number of infections in the last two weeks with 9,564 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 4,611 and by Central Luzon with 3,064.
Quezon City is still at the top of the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 2,244, followed by Cavite with 1,556 and Laguna with 1,192.
A total of 16,596 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday.
