City environment office staff in Leyte hurt in shooting incident

An employee of Baybay City's environment and natural resources office was shot and wounded by a still unknown assailant in Barangay Old Taligue, Abuyog town, Leyte on Thursday, September 1.

ORMOC CITY — An employee of Baybay City’s environment and natural resources office was shot and wounded by a still unknown assailant in Barangay Old Taligue, Abuyog town, Leyte on Thursday, September 1.

Romeo Llorada, 63, sustained a gunshot wound on his left shoulder but managed to drive his motorcycle to escape.

Major Luis Hatton, chief of the Abuyog Police Station, said the wounded victim was found along the road by a certain Falcon Soria and Forest Ranger Guillermo Managbanag who immediately brought the victim to the Barangay Old Taligue Health Center.

Llorada was eventually transferred to the Abuyog District Hospital for treatment. The victim, however, was again transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Tacloban City.

He was already in stable condition on Friday as police investigators continue its probe to identify and arrest the perpetrators and those behind the attack.
