LUCENA CITY — A tricycle driver on Thursday yielded more than P6,000 worth of shabu and a bladed weapon at a checkpoint in Candelaria town in Quezon province.
The Candelaria police reported that at 2:36 a.m., they flagged down Solven Cuenca, 27, at a checkpoint in Barangay Malabanban Sur for a routine inspection.
But instead of stopping his vehicle, Cuenca sped off, prompting the cops to give chase.
During the search, the police found Cuenca carrying a kitchen knife and two sachets of shabu worth P6,120.
The suspect was detained and will face criminal charges and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for illegal drugs possession.
