MANILA, Philippines — As the country celebrates National Heroes Day, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to not pull each other down and instead become an “instrument of unity.”
Sa halip, maging instrumento tayo ng pagkakaisa ng kapayapaan,” Marcos said in his speech at theNational Heroes Day ceremony at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City Monday morning.
(Let us not be stuck in conflicts or disagreement and pulling each other down. Instead, let us become an instrument of unity and peace.)
(I am hopeful that through the example of our heroes, we will live by the love they’ve shown for the country and protect and fight for the promise of goodness.)
Marcos said Filipinos will be able to face any challenges if there is unity and everyone will work together as one country.
(Even as modern times present us with changes we have to face, we will be able to overcome any challenges if we will become heroes in our own ways.)
