MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed a complaint against the suspect in the rape-slay of a minor in Bulacan.

Besides facing rape with homicide raps, the suspect, Gaspar Maneja Jr., will also be sued for concealing his identity by using a fake name.

“Our personnel don’t sleep on cases. They make sure that they are built on a strong information gathering to search and arrest the perpetrator of the crime. Following this is the filing of necessary charges against an arrested suspect,” PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said in a statement issued on Sunday.

Maneja was accused of raping and killing 15-year-old Princess Dumantay, who was last seen on Aug. 10 boarding the suspect’s vehicle in an area in Bulacan where she usually went biking.

Authorities found Dumantay’s body in a grassy area in Bustos, Bulacan last Friday, Aug. 12. Her body had bruises, cigarette burns, and strangulation marks.

A forensic autopsy report indicated that the victim was raped.
