TAGBILARAN CITY — At least 27 towns in the province of Bohol each received a brand new ambulance from the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday afternoon, Aug. 26.

DOH-Central Visayas director Dr. Jaime Bernadas turned over the ambulances at the People’s Mansion in Tagbilaran City.

The recipients of the donation include the Calape Mother and Child Hospital in Calape town, San Miguel Hospital in San Miguel town; and the Tubigon Community Hospital in  Tubigon town.

The rest include the rural health units of Alburquerque, Alicia,  Baclayon,  Balilihan, Bien Unido, Buenavista, Calape, Candijay, Catigbian, Corella, Dagohoy, Dimiao, Dauis,  Getafe, Inabanga, Jagna, Lila, Loon I and II, Panglao, Sagbayan, Talibon, and Tubigon.

Present during the turnover were officials of the DOH, Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado, Bohol Vice Governor Victor Balite, Representatives Edgar Chatto, Vanessa Aumentado and Alexie Tutor, and provincial health officer Dr. Reymoses Cabagnot.

The mayors personally received the ambulances complete with stretchers, medical equipment, and supplies for their towns.

Aumentado thanked the DOH for the ambulance which would help address the emergency needs of people and improve the public healthcare services in the province.
