MANILA, Philippines —The Marikina River has reached the 15-meter mark, triggering the first alarm in the city’s disaster risk reduction system.
In its latest update, the Marikina Public Information Office said the water level reached 15.2 meters as of 5:43 pm.
While not under any tropical cyclone wind signal, the Severe Tropical Storm “Florita” has brought moderate to heavy rains to Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard on Tuesday said they are deploying 11 aluminum and rubber boats in flood-prone areas in the different villages of Marikina City.
