MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday registered 3,077 fresh infections of COVID-19, with the country’s active cases decreasing further to 33,774.
The new cases, meanwhile, are also lower than the average daily cases recorded from August 15 to August 21, which was at 3,412.
It then raised the country’s total caseload to 3,858,838 nationwide, with 3,763,768 recoveries and 61,386 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website.
But in the latest data from the COVID-19 tracker, Metro Manila still continued to have the highest number of infections per region in the last two weeks with 14,128 cases, followed by Calabarzon at 8,441, then by Central Luzon at 4,785.
On the other hand, Quezon City is still at the top of the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 3,443, followed by Cavite, which recorded 3,015 and Laguna at 2,475.
Meanwhile, the tracker showed that only 13,937 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, reflecting the number of recorded infections on Tuesday.
