‘Florita’ forces suspension of classes in Tuguegarao

Tuguegarao City to extend ECQ for 7 days as COVID-19 cases soar

TUGUEGARAO CITY—Mayor Maila Ting-Que on Monday, August 22, suspended classes at all levels in public and private schools in the city as a preemptive measure against the anticipated impact of Tropical Depression “Florita.”

The suspension, which also covered graduate and law schools, was to ensure the safety of the students, said Ting-Que.

Local authorities were preparing for the possible rise in the level of several rivers in Cagayan province due to Florita.

As of 10 a.m. on Monday, the level of Angat Dam stood at 187.06 meters above sea level, which was nearing its 190-masl spilling mark. INQ
