Another Albay town suspends classes due to ‘Florita’

LEGAZPI CITY—Another town in Albay suspended classes on Monday due to the threat of Tropical Depression “Florita.”

Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo of Camalig town said he suspended classes at all levels in both public and private schools until further notice.

Baldo said they have been monitoring all river channels in the villages of Ligban, Libod, Tinago, Salugan, Ilawod, and Tagaytay for possible overflow.

The village officials were advised to implement localized evacuation of high-risk families, if needed.

Earlier, Libon Mayor Wilfredo Maronilla ordered the suspension of classes at all levels due to flooding caused by heavy rains in the low-lying areas. INQ
