Pagasa: Rainy Sunday in parts of Luzon, Eastern Visayas due to LPA
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) will trigger rain showers in parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas on Sunday, while the rest of the country will have fairer weather, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The LPA was last spotted some 755 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.
‘Yung trough po nito or ‘yung extension ay nagdadala po ng kaulapan na may mga pagulan, pagkidlat pagkulog sa Bicol region at ilang bahagi po ng Eastern Visayas,” said Bulquerin.
(The LPA’s trough or its extension is expected to bring clouds with rain showers, lightning and thunder to the Bicol region and some parts of Eastern Visayas.)
“Sa ngayon ay nananatili pong may posibilidad na mag-develop into a Tropical Cyclone in the next 24 hours,” he added.
(There is still a possibility that it will develop into a tropical Cyclone in the next 24 hours.)
Aside from the Bicol region, scattered raoi showers are likewise expected in Marinduque, Romblon and Quezon.
Metro Manila, on the other hand, and the rest of Luzon, will experience relatively fairer weather with chances of rain due to isolated thunderstorms.
The Samar provinces and Biliran in Eastern Visayas will also experience scattered rain showers due to the LPA, while fair weather is expected over the rest of Visayas and the entire Mindanao.
Despite the presence of an LPA, Bulquerin said that no gale warning was raised as only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected.

- Tagaytay: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
