MANILA, Philippines – Fair weather with chances of rain from afternoon to evening is seen to prevail across the archipelago on Friday, said the state weather bureau.
In a Thursday afternoon public forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the southwest monsoon and a low pressure area 310 kilometers west of Laoag City in Ilocos Norte is still triggering rains over the Ilocos Region, Abra, Mountain Province, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan.
On Friday, however, the agency forecasted fair weather with brief and intermittent rain showers in the country due to a weak southwest monsoon.
“Ito ngang mga isolated at localized thunderstorm natin ay epekto pa rin ng ating mahinang habagat kaya magkakaroon tayo ng mas maraming convective activities pagdating ng hapon,” Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario further explained.
(These isolated and localized thunderstorms are effects of the weak southwest monsoon. The said weather system will bring about a lot of convective activities from afternoon onwards.)

- Baguio — 16 to 21 degrees Celsius
