‘High value’ drug suspect yields P183,000 ‘shabu’ in Rizal bust

LUCENA CITY — Police seized more than P183,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from an alleged “high value” drug trafficker in Antipolo City in Rizal province early Wednesday.

Police Col. Dominic Baccay, Rizal police chief, said Edison Zamora, 42, was arrested after allegedly selling P1,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) San Roque at around 5 a.m., August 17.

Authorities confiscated from Zamora six plastic sachets of shabu weighing 27 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P183,600.

Police tagged the suspect as included on the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual on the local drug scene.

The suspect was detained and is facing a formal complaint for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
