Negros Oriental cops probe slay of comrade


BACOLOD CITY—Policemen are investigating the killing on Monday afternoon of one of their comrades in Barangay San Roque, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.


Corporal Rey Agustillo Ambo, 37, was on his way home on board his motorcycle when still unknown assailants shot him dead at 4:50 p.m.

Chief Master Sergeant Archer Birjes, Bayawan police investigator, said the victim was taken to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.


Police investigators have yet to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the killing.

Ambo was a member of the 705th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Basay town, Negros Oriental.
