Eight men who posed as customers robbed a massage parlor and hogtied its owner and employees in Quezon City in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The robbers took about P300,000 in cash and valuables from the Ton-Ton Thai Massage Clinic at Mariwasa Building on Aurora Boulevard, Barangay New Manila, at around 12:40 a.m.
They pretended to be customers first before declaring a holdup after inquiring with the receptionist, who failed to alarm his coworkers inside the establishment, according to PO2 Macben Ofilan of the Quezon City police.
They hogtied the shop’s owner Harvy Chang, 35, and four other female employees to a chair before leaving the premises in a van, Ofilan added.
Investigation showed that the robbers took from Chang some P63,000 in cash, two Nokia mobile phones worth P30,000 each, a flash drive, and three laptops worth P40,000 each.
The employees lost a total of P31,000 in cash, four mobile phones worth of P44,000, two wrist watches, and a luggage set worth P20,000.
The massage parlor, which did not employ security guards, had no customers when the robbery took place, the officer added. Nancy C. Carvajal
