QC Mayor Belmonte receives Gabriela Silang of the First Order Award

MANILA, Philippines – Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte was given the Gabriela Silang of the First Order Award on Tuesday.

Belmonte was also declared as an “Adopted Daughter of Vigan City”, according to the City of Vigan Resolution No. 51 of 2022.

In the Quezon City Government’s official Facebook page, the award was conferred due to the swift aid that the Quezon City government gave to Vigan City after it was affected by a magnitude 7 earthquake.

The Gabriela Silang of the First Order Award has been exclusively awarded to women and is typically given to the spouses of heads of states, with past recipients including Aurora Quezon, wife of late former president Manuel Quezon.
