Iceman killed in Manila

A man working for an ice dealer was gunned down on Monday night by robbers who took his cell phone and the establishment’s earnings for the day which totaled P7,000. Rodel Oliveros, 25, an employee of Medrano Ice Dealer on Cavite Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila, died on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the face. SPO1 Mario Asilo of the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section said the robbery took place at around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, right after Oliveros collected money from a regular customer at Block 14, Old Site Baseco Compound in the Port Area. Teen slain by teens

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was killed when a dozen youngsters ganged up on him and stabbed him near a cockpit arena in Taytay, Rizal province before dawn Tuesday. Supt. Art Masungsong, Taytay police chief, said Justin Mark Zuñiga, a resident of Sitio Batong Dalig, was walking home with his three friends at around 2 a.m. when 12 teenagers blocked their path. The victim’s friends managed to run away but Zuñiga tripped. His body was later found by his friends. The police said they had not yet determined why he was killed.  Niña Calleja
