Confirmed cases of Covid-19 from August 8 to 14.
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 28,008 infections of COVID-19 were logged by the Department of Health (DOH) from August 8 to 14, slightly higher than the previous week’s 27,331.
In its weekly-released data, DOH reported an average daily rate of 4,001, three percent higher than 3,904 the week before.
Meanwhile, 101 or 0.36 percent of the total cases were tagged as severe or critical, bringing the active number of severe or critical cases to 822.
An additional 229 deaths were also added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll — 98 of which occurred in August, while the rest were backlogs from September 2021 to July 2022.
Non-ICU-bed utilization rate remained at 30.9 percent, while the ICU-bed utilization rate also increased from 24.8 percent to 28 percent.
Regarding vaccination progress, fully-vaccinated individuals are now at 72,107,090 (92.33 percent of the target population) after 208,369 additional individuals were vaccinated in the past week.
On the other hand, individuals with booster shots are now at 17,015,413 after 412,316 additional individuals were inoculated in the same period.
Based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker on its website, as of August 14, active COVID-19 infections nationwide currently number 40,016.
