THE LEXMARK Stallions hardly broke a sweat in tallying their third straight victory, blasting the hapless Xlibris Publishers, 85-35, last Saturday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Seigfred Ofonda led the 50-point massacre by finishing with 23 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal as the Stallions joined the defending champions Teletech Titans at second place with similar 3-0 (win-loss) slates.
The Convergys Wolves lead the standings with a 4-0 record.
Nell Armamento and Roy Joseph Lanzaderas backed Ofonda with 11 points each.
The Stallions overwhelmed the Publishers with their superior firepower, scoring 31 points in the third period while limiting their opponent to just six.
With the Publishers scoring just six in the payoff period, the Stallions were really never threatened in posting the lopsided victory. Violeto Tan Jr. scored 15 points but was the lone double digit scorer for Xlibris, which dropped to 2-3.
In the other game, the Supportsave Dragons kept the Kyocera Frontiers with a 50-37 decision.
John Hatague delivered 16 points for the Dragons, who nailed their second win in six games. Kyocera and the Executive Boutique Tarantulas are the only winless teams left in the 16-team field./EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
