MANILA, Philippines — Nine persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) are under monitoring after testing positive for COVID-19, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Thursday.

BJMP spokesperson Col. Xavier Solda said the PDLs who contracted COVID-19 are staying in isolation facilities under the watch of medical personnel.

This is in coordination with the local health unit concerned and the Department of Health,” Solda said during the Laging Handa briefing.
