MANILA, Philippines — The total cost of infrastructure damage by the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck Abra has reached P1,805,650,590.62 on Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
The NDRRMC, in its latest situation report, said the earthquake damaged a total of 2,383 infrastructure. Of these, 1,403 are in the Ilocos Region, 131 in the Cagayan Valley, nine in Central Luzon, 828 in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and 12 in Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC also reported that damage to agriculture has reached P56,396,225. Of this, damage to livestock, poultry, and fisheries is at P5,613,750.
The NDRRMC also reported that 513,330 individuals or 140,617 families were affected by the quake.
Injuries and deaths recorded remain at 615 and 11, respectively.
Of the affected population, the NDRRMC said 1,034 or 334 families are still staying in evacuation centers, while 55,988 individuals or 15,999 families are not in evacuation centers (which according to the NDRRMC could mean they are staying at other places.)
