MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is eyeing to release the suggested retail prices (SRPs) for various school supplies by early next week, Undersecretary Ruth Castelo said Wednesday.
With the exception of the past two school years, DTI has been releasing SRPs for school supplies annually.
“Ngayon, ilalabas na rin natin siya para sa gabay para alam ng mga consumers natin o ‘yung mga namimili ng school supplies kung hanggang magkano lang dapat ang bili nila doon sa mga produktong ito,” Castelo said during the Laging Handa briefing.
(We will release this so that our consumers will have a guide as to how much the product should only cost.)
“Anytime soon ilalabas natin ito. Hopefully itong matapos itong linggo or hanggang early next week. Makikita natin dito ‘yung price range,” she added.
(We will release this anytime soon. Hopefully after this week or by early next week. We can see here the price range.)
The Department of Education earlier announced that classes for the School Year 2022-2023 will open on August 22.
Vice President and concurrent Education Secretary Sara Duterte said that while schools are transitioning to full in-person classes, they can implement combined face-to-face classes and distance learning from August until October 31.
All schools are anticipated to implement face-to-face classes by November 2.
