SRP drag racers
Acting on complaints of residents, the Talisay City police said it will go after drag racers who use the wide lanes of the South Road Properties (SRP).
Supt. Eddie Recamara, Talisay police chief, said they will invoke a city ordinance to go after road daredevils since local police are not authorized by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to issue traffic citation tickets or confiscate a driver’s license.
Drag racing in the SRP road, which connects Cebu City and Talisay City, has been rampant since the national road was built. /Gabriel C. Bonjoc correspondent
