PHILIPPINE Super Flyweight prospect Arthur “El Matador” Villanueva will be making his ring return in the country’s premier boxing stage Pinoy Pride on March 24, 2012.
Villanueva who has won all his 17 professional fights has stopped 12 of his opponents without losing a single fight in his career.
“El Matador” Villanueva was scheduled to debut last year in the undercard of ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports’ Pinoy Pride 9 that featured the WBO Light Flyweight championship between two-division world champion Donnie Nietes against former champ Ramon Garcia Hirales of Mexico.
Unfortunately, with a week left before the fight, Villanueva almost severed his middle finger while slicing an apple hence stalling his debut.
Now, his much anticipated ring return nears as he is to meet No. 8 Filipino Super Flyweight Rey Migreno, a veteran who has fought big names including newly crowned world champion Sonny Boy Jaro.
Migreno has likewise challenged for the WBC ABC Flyweight belt and the Interim IBF Pan Pacific Light Flyweight title.
This will be Villanueva’s toughest test to date but he remains confident as he has been on a KO tear with 10 consecutive stoppages under his name.
Pinoy Pride XIII: Road to Glory is an ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports presentation.
