Tacloban court branch suspends operation after COVID-19 infection

TACLOBAN CITY — A trial court here suspended operations for three days starting Monday (August 8) after one of its personnel tested positive for COVID-19.

Executive Judge Leonito Sabandal, in an advisory, said the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 will be closed for disinfection.
All court queries and transactions will be done through phone calls or emails.

The Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas has reported a spike of COVID-19 cases in the region for the past weeks now.

From August 1 to 7, the health agency reported 190 new cases which is higher compared to the 138 cases from July 25 to July 31.

Of the 190 new cases, 112 of them were from Leyte province, followed by Samar, 34; Southern Leyte, 12; Eastern Samar, 15; Northern Samar 10; and Biliran, seven.
