2 suspected pushers nabbed in Quezon buy-busts

Police authorities seized some P3.4-million worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in an operation conducted in Balintawak Market in Quezon City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.

LUCENA CITY—Police arrested two alleged drug pushers in buy-bust operations Monday and Tuesday in this city and Gumaca town in Quezon province.

Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, said members of the local police drug enforcement unit collared at 7 a.m. Tuesday Alfredo Querijero, 58, after he allegedly sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Cotta.

Seized from the suspect were nine plastic sachets of meth with a street value of P108,528.

The police tagged Querijero as an alleged member of a drug group and classified him as a high-value individual in the local drug scene.

In Barangay Maunlad Gumaca town, anti-narcotics agents nabbed around 7 a.m. Tuesday Alfredo Querijero, 58, Juven Vidal, 38, Quezon police reported.

The suspect yielded 10 sachets of shabu worth P25, 500 in the street market.

Also recovered from Vidal was an undocumented caliber .9mm pistol loaded with seven bullets.

Both suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Vidal will also be slapped with a case for illegal firearm possession.
