MANILA, Philippines — The country will continue to experience rains due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” prompting the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) to issue gale warnings over the western section of Luzon on Tuesday.
“Patuloy ang epekto ng habagat o southwest monsoon sa ating bansa, kasalukuyang naapektuhan ng southwest monsoon o habagat [ang] kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio in the bureau’s public weather forecast .
(The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will still affect our country, currently impacting the western part of Luzon).
Pagasa raised gale warnings over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Lubang Island, Bataan, the western coast of Palawan, and the Kalayaan Islands, cautioning residents not to go into sea due to rough to very rough sea conditions, with waves spanning up to 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
The state weather bureau is also monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) 280 kilometers east of Davao City, causing rainfall over Caraga and Davao, however it has low chances of becoming a tropical depression.
According to Pagasa’s weather bulletin, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau warned areas affected by the LPA, southwest monsoon and isolated thunderstorms of possible flashfloods and landslides.

Metro Manila — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Baguio — 16 to 21 degrees Celsius
Laoag — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Legazpi — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa — 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay — 22 to 29 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands — 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
Iloilo — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cebu — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tacloban — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cagayan de Oro — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga — 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Davao — 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
