Pagasa: Wet, cloudy Monday due to ‘habagat’
MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are expected in Central and Southern Luzon, as well as other parts of the country on Monday due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat”, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Sa araw na ito, may inaasahan pa rin tayong pag-ulan dulot ng southwest monsoon o habagat,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in a public weather forecast.
(Rains are expected today due to the southwest monsoon or habagat.)
“Ang southwest monsoon o habagat ay nakakaapekto sa Central Luzon at sa Southern Luzon,” he added.
(The southwest monsoon or habagat is affecting Central Luzon and Southern Luzon.)
Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).
The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have fair weather with possible isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
Pagasa also warned the public of possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to at times heavy rain.
Coastal waters in the western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough condition with waves reaching up to 2.8 meters.
The rest of the archipelago’s seaboards will be in slight to moderate with waves reaching as high as 2.5 meters.
