TUGUEGARAO CITY—A farm worker in Santa Teresita town, Cagayan province, allegedly killed Monday the two grandchildren of his former employer, the police said Wednesday.
The victims, a 5-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, suffered multiple stab wounds, according to Captain Isabelita Gano, Cagayan police spokesperson.
Investigators identified the suspect as Jerry Genova, alias “Bentong,” who also allegedly tied his former employer, Evelyn Perez, 64, a retired school principal. Perez reportedly fired the suspect recently.
Genova took with him an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry from the victims’ house in Barangay Villa, police said.
Police arrested the suspect after a pursuit operation. He was shot in the buttocks while trying to escape. INQ
