Bongbong Marcos appoints lead physician Zacate as FDA chief
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed his lead physician Dr. Samuel Zacate as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief, Malacañang announced on Wednesday.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Zacate is a known public health advocate with “years of expertise in medicine and medical consultancy in other government units and offices.”
This includes the Public Attorney’s Office and the Presidential Security Group Hospital, among others.
Prior to his appointment to the FDA, Cruz-Angeles said Zacate was a diplomate of the Philippine Society for Venereology and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons.
