BEIJING — The Chinese military is scheduled to carry out live-fire exercises in the East China Sea starting Wednesday, according to the Zhejiang Provincial Maritime Safety Administration.

The administration said in a navigational warning published on Tuesday on its website the exercises would take place from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm each day through Friday. It released geographical coordinates of the drill zone, asking ships not participating in the event not to enter.

The People’s Liberation Army has conducted several live-fire exercises over the past several days.

Meanwhile, the China Central Television reported on Tuesday evening that the People’s Liberation Army Air Force has sent its Su-35 fighter jets to cross the Taiwan Straits.

A social media account affiliated with the CCTV published the brief information on Tuesday night, without elaborating.
