1 hurt in Cotabato city hall blast
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Unidentified motorcycle-riding men tossed a hand grenade into the Cotabato City hall grounds Sunday night that left a civil security man slightly wounded, police said.
Senior Supt. Danilo Reyes, city police director, said Danny Upam, a member of the city hall civil security team, suffered minor injuries in his left arm when the MK-2 fragmentation grenade went off at 10 p.m. about 10 meters from the guard house.
Bombings, shooting and “agaw armas” continue to hound city residents despite the presence of a battalion-size Philippine Marines and the 300-strong Cotabato City police.
No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, the tenth since January.
