BAGUIO CITY — President Benigno Aquino III is not about to argue with militant groups heckling him for his working style.
The President said late Sunday night here he would continue to do his job of improving the lives of people and shrugged off those groups who coined the term “Noynoying” in describing his alleged idle ways in governing the country.
“Hindi kailangan pansinin. You know, honestly, di ba, papaano mo
ipapakita sa ayaw tumingin? Paano mo iparirinig sa ayaw makinig? Kung masaya silangginagawa nila yun, nasa kanila yon. Sa akin lang, I have all of the statistics,” President Aquino said in a chat with Palace reporters at the Mansion, the official residence of the President in the City of Pines.
Aquino stayed over night here after attending the graduation rites of the Philippine Military Academy “Bagwis” Class 2012.
The Chief Executive cited the booming construction industry and the strong stock market as signs that his government’s efforts to improve the economy was taking off.
“Stock market mo, 21 months ako in office, 21 times na ngang ako — nagbreak na nga ng record. At pag sinasabing wala akong ginagawa, at pangit ang nangyayari, e di anong conclusion doon? Tinitingnan ba nila, nakikinig pa sila? E di kung ganoon, ayaw nila, anong magagawa ko?” he said.
The President said for him, he would do what was right and would give results.
“And when we started out, given the enormity of the problems akala namin two years minimum before you start sensing things are changing but I think it’s happening,” Aquino said.
