LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—A medical team from the government-run Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC) in this province has been deployed to Abra to bring aid to the 7-magnitude earthquake survivors that struck Wednesday many parts of Luzon.

The hospital said it would deploy more medical teams to Abra in the next few days.

The first batch, composed of 10 hospital personnel, including doctors, nurses, a medical technologist, pharmacists, a cook, and EMT-trained personnel, traveled to Abra Thursday morning bringing with them medicines, health supplements, medical supplies, and a portable X-ray machine.

Two ambulances accompanied them, the hospital said.

Immediately after the earthquake, the hospital suspended its outpatient department operations.

Aside from the medical team from the MMMH&MC, Ilocos Norte also deployed personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection to Abra for a quick response operation. INQ
