P843,000 ‘shabu’, ‘weeds’ seized in Calabarzon buy-busts

LUCENA CITY—Police seized more than P843,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and marijuana in separate buy-bust operations on Tuesday, July 26, and Wednesday, July 27, in the Calabarzon region.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday Danilo Policarpio and Errol Fadri in Barangay Dolores in Taytay, Rizal, the Police Regional Office 4-A reported Wednesday. Confiscated from the suspect were 109 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P741,200.
In Calamba City, Laguna, police collared at 5:57 p.m. also on Tuesday Leo Unico after he allegedly sold a sachet of dried marijuana leaves or “weeds” to a police agent in Barangay Sampiruhan. The suspect was found in possession of six sachets of weeds weighing 618 grams and with a DDB value of P74,160.
Meanwhile, police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency personnel busted at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday Rony Casing in Barangay Ibabang Iyam in this city. The suspect was found with four sachets of meth worth P27,948 in the street market.
All suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
