House elects heads of committees

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives on Tuesday elected the chairpersons of some of its committees.

During the session, members of the majority bloc nominated the following:

• Bohol 1st District Rep. Edgardo Chatto as committee on climate change chairperson
• Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo as committee on basic education and culture chairperson
• Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda as committee on ways and means chairperson
• Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co as committee on appropriations chairperson
• Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Quimbo as committee on appropriations senior vice chairperson
• Tingog Rep. Yedah Romualdez as committee on accounts chairperson
• Aklan 2nd District Rep. Teodorico Haresco Jr. as committee on economic affairs chairperson
• Baguio City Rep. Mark Go as committee on higher and technical education chairperson
• Negros Occidental 4th District Rep. Juliet Ferrer as committee on justice chairperson
• Lanao del Norte 1st District Rep. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo as committee on muslim affairs chairperson
• Cavite 4th District Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. as committee on natural resources chairperson
• Surigao del Sur 1st District Rep. Romeo Momo as committee on public works and highways chairperson

No one objected to the motion, thus, allowing the said lawmakers to secure the posts.
