LUCENA CITY – Quezon province has logged 27 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the highest single-day tally since March 2022, the provincial health authorities reported.
The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) also recorded that the number of recovered patients is now at 29.
A COVID-19 patient from Lucban town died, the IPHO record showed.
The IPHO disclosed that the current number of active COVID-19 cases jumped to 106 in 25 of the province’s 41 municipalities.
This July, Quezon has logged 307 new cases, 208 recoveries, and four deaths.
In June, the province recorded 52 COVID-19 cases, 14 in May, 21 in April, 88 in March and 772 in February.
The Department of Health placed Lucena and Alabat under alert level 1, the most lenient in the five-tier alert status, until July 31.
The rest of Quezon’s 39 localities remain under alert level 2.
