MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are expected in the Visayas and parts of Luzon on Tuesday due to a low pressure area (LPA) off Quezon province, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last monitored 340 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.
“Ito’y nananatiling mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo. Sa nakita namin, magtatagal itong LPA at maaaring dalawa hanggang tatlong araw ito nasa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility (PAR),” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in an early morning public forecast.
(The LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm, but may stay inside the PAR for at least two to three more days.)
Aurelio added that the weather system will bring overcast skies with scattered rain showers to the Visayas, Bicol and Mimaropa (Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, and Palawan) regions throughout the day.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience relatively calmer skies with isolated rains that may still be encountered from afternoon to evening due to localized thunderstorms, Aurelio added.
