Ilocos region logs over 400 new COVID cases in 1 week

Only one severe COVID-19 case logged in Ilocos region Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—More than 400 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the Ilocos region from July 17 to July 23, the regional Department of Health (DOH) said on Monday, July 25.

The figure surpassed the number of cases recorded from July 10 to 16, which was 269.

The 447 new COVID-19 cases recorded raised the daily average number of cases to 64 from 38 the previous week, the regional DOH said

Of the new cases, only one of them was tagged as a severe and critical case, pushing the total number of hospital admissions to 13.

The health department also verified at least four deaths due to COVID-19 during the same period. INQ
