40 arrested for violating gun ban for Bongbong Marcos’ Sona — NCRPO
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 40 suspects have been arrested in Metro Manila for violating the gun ban put in place as a security measure for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s first state of the nation address (Sona), the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Monday.
Of the 40 suspects, 12 were arrested on Monday, the day of President Marcos’ Sona.
NCRPO has also confiscated 27 firearms in Metro Manila so far.
One of the apparent gun ban violators was the suspect Chao Tiao Yumol, 38, who is allegedly behind the shooting incident in Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday.
The incident led to the death of former Lamitan City Mayor Rose Furigay and two others.
