MANILA, Philippines — The entire country will experience hot and humid weather on Sunday as easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean remain the dominant weather system in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran, however, said there are still chances of localized thunderstorms especially in the afternoon and evening, which could cause possible flash floods and landslides.
“Sa Luzon, asahan pa din natin ang mainit at maalinsangang panahon na may mataas na tiyansa ng thunderstorms sa hapon at gabi,” Duran said in a public weather forecast.
(In Luzon, expect hot and humid weather with a high chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)
“Dito naman po sa Visayas at Mindanao asahan pa din po natin ang maalinsangang panahon na may mga mataas na tiyansa ng thunderstorms sa hapon at gabi,” he added.
(Here in Visayas and Mindanao, we are also expecting hot and humid weather with a big chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)
Duran also said Pagasa is still monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) 1,775 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.
Outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the LPA is not currently affecting the country and has a low chance of becoming a typhoon, said Duran.
The state weather bureau also did not raise gale warning to any seaboards nationwide.
