CABANATUAN CITY—A 57-year-old man died while his daughter was injured on Saturday, July 23, in a fire that razed a house he was taking care of in this city.
The city police identified the fatality as Enrique Santos, Jr., caretaker of the house in Villa Luz Subdivision in Barangay Mabini Homesite, which was hit by fire around 1 a.m. The house was owned by a certain Luzviminda Seki.
The victim’s daughter, Joyce Santos, was treated at the Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in this city for burn injuries, the police said.
Santos was trapped in the comfort room where investigators found his body.
Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection of this city declared “fire out” at 1:20 a.m.
The cause of the fire and the damage were yet to be determined.
