Angeles City’s active COVID-19 cases break 100-mark

ANGELES CITY—The active COVID-19 cases in this city reached 102 after the local government registered 22 new ones on Friday, July 22.

The city health office also recorded 10 recoveries and zero deaths.

Sto. Domingo village has the most active cases at 18, followed by Cutcut and Balibago with 14 patients each.

On July 20, a resident of Balibago village died of the disease.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, this city had recorded 14,943 COVID-19 cases, of which 14,298 had recovered, and 543 had died.

Angeles City and the rest of Central Luzon are under Alert Level 1 until the end of this month.

While wearing face masks in public places is still mandatory under the said alert level, the Inquirer observed that many people, including some establishment owners and workers, no longer wear face masks.

No policemen, city government, and barangay workers roam around to enforce minimum health protocols.
