NBI holds special off-site clearance processing for Zamboanga Sibugay job applicants

Zamboanga Sibugay town vice mayor shot dead, 2 companions hurt

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur—The National Bureau of Investigation Western Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-WEMRO) conducted a two-day off-site clearance processing for clients in Zamboanga Sibugay province from July 21 to 22, mainly for job seekers in local governments.

The special schedule was in response to the request of Governor Dulce Ann Hofer, NBI-WEMRO Director Moises Tamayo told the Inquirer.

Tamayo noted that there was no NBI Clearance Processing Center in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Applicants had to travel to the cities of Zamboanga or Pagadian, four hours away, to secure such a document, an additional burden for those looking for jobs, says Tamayo.

However, they are looking at the possibility of placing a satellite office to cater to such needs, added Tamayo.

Jenny Hofer Niedens of the Provincial Governor’s Office disclosed that they coordinated with the NBI-WEMRO, seeing the rise of new employment, especially under the local governments.

They were expecting around 300 applicants for the 2-day schedule, Niedens said.
