LUCENA CITY—The Calabarzon region recorded 254 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, July 20, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
Data from the Health Education and Promotion Unit of DOH–Calabarzon as of 3 p.m., Wednesday, showed that the active COVID-19 cases in the region jumped to 2,648 from 733 on July 1.
The regional health authorities did not provide information on the COVID-19 variants of the active cases.
On March 12, DOH-Calabarzon logged 299 COVID-19 cases in a day and one patient on May 29.
Cavite topped the list with 1,001 active cases, followed by Batangas with 675; Laguna, 610; Rizal, 285; Quezon and Lucena City, 77.
The region listed on Wednesday 421 recoveries and four deaths.
On Tuesday, the DOH announced that Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Lucena, and Alabat would be under alert level 1.
The rest of Quezon’s 39 localities remain under alert level 2.
