ALICIA, Isabela—A fire on Wednesday, July 20, gutted the house of a construction worker in Barangay Paddad in this town, authorities said.

Fire investigators said the house owned by Bernardo Bonilla was made of light materials, which caused the blaze to spread quickly. No one was hurt in the incident.

Witnesses said they heard an explosion inside Bonilla’s house before the fire broke out. Investigators were looking at faulty electrical wiring as a possible cause. INQ
