MANILA, Philippines —  The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 has effectively transferred its functions to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The NTF sent on Wednesday a statement to reporters announcing the transfer and thanking the media for amplifying “the importance of minimum public health standards and the national vaccination program.”

“To streamline the government’s pandemic response, the duties of the NTF will now be transferred to the NDRRMC,”  the NTF said. “We advise that all queries regarding NTF be directed to the NDRRMC, and questions about the vaccination program be addressed to the DOH.”

Previously, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that it would use the NDRRMC as its platform, effectively replacing the NTF. Malacañang Palace earlier also said that it would reconstitute the member agencies of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Before issuing the transfer announcement, the NDRRMC also assured that it would be ready to replace the NTF as the DOH platform so as to streamline IATF meetings and processes.
