Man and wife killed in road crash

LEGAZPI CITY — A man and his wife were killed when their motorcycle collided with a passenger bus in Del Gallego town in Camarines Sur province early Wednesday, July 20, police said.

Police Lieutenant Junny Cris Curba, acting chief of Del Gallego police, identified the victims as Danilo Adonis, 55, and his wife, Cecilia, 51, residents of Imus town in Cavite province.

Initial investigation said the motorcycle driven by Danilo occupied the opposite lane and collided head-on with the bus driven by Augosto Aperin, coming from the opposite direction along national highway in Barangay (village) Comadogcadog at around 3:30 a.m.

Curba said, quoting another motorcycle rider who was traveling with the victims on board a different motorbike, Danilo told them that he was sleepy before they traveled from Sorsogon to Manila.

“The motorcycle was [moving] in zigzag motion before crashing into the bus,” Curba said.

The victims sustained injuries died while being taken to a hospital.

The driver and the passengers of the Albay-bound bus were unharmed.
