Call center employee stabbed dead in rented home; Facebook boyfriend sought

MANILA, Philippines — A female employee of a call center was found dead inside her Mandaluyong home at around Saturday midnight, hogtied and stabbed several times all over her body, police said.

Maria Lisa Dominguez, 44, was discovered slumped on the floor covered in her own blood inside the room she was renting in Coronado Heights, Barangay Barangka-Ibaba, Mandaluyong City at around 12 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Dominguez was working at the human resources department of i-Tech Solutions, a call center company.

SPO2 Julius Caesar Pinera of the Mandaluyong police, said the victim was hogtied with an electric wire while a blanket was looped around her neck. She bore at least 26 stab wounds all over her body, the police said.

Senior Supt. Armando Bolalin, Mandaluyong police chief, said their primary suspect was identified only as Raffy, the woman’s boyfriend, whom she allegedly met on the popular networking site Facebook.

Hours before the killing, the victim even wrote on her Facebook status that she was waiting for her boyfriend, Bolalin said.

The victim’s housemates also claimed she was last seen in the company of her boyfriend.

“We are still getting more details about the identity of the suspect. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a picture on his Facebook account,” Bolalin said over the phone.

The police promised to produce an artist’s sketch of the suspect should they fail to secure at least one photograph from the social networking site.

Police said the motive in the killing could be robbery because two laptops owned by the victim’s housemates were missing.

“But we are not yet ruling out other possibilities until we are over with the investigation,” Bolalin said.
